Junglophilia

Val Hallah was a prominent female singer, musician and artist in the 1980s. ‘Junglophilia’ documents her performance at WOMAD in 1982, the peak of her fame, in what proved to be a defining moment for her career. We shot this in two days, almost being thwarted by knee-deep mud and the threat of the festival’s cancellation. It was completely improvised and stars Alice Lowe, Barunka O’Shaughnessy and Jordan Long. The film was funded by Peter Gabriel and he has seen it. And approved it. Apparently.
